Editor's note: As an industry with millions of agents and over 100,000 brokerage companies, new leaders rise to the top every day. Here we highlight executives and other notable leaders who've recently taken on roles that influence the residential real estate landscape.

Ryan Gorman takes the reins at Boston consultancy

Ryan Gorman will lead the Boston real estate consulting company he co-founded over a decade ago, after briefly serving as a Coldwell Banker senior advisor since leaving the CEO position in December.

Ryan Gorman, co-founder, btcRE.

Through his consultancy firm, btcRE — "be the change in real estate" — Gorman believes he can maximize his impact in the realm of housing affordability, according to a Feb. 2 blog post.

"In 2023, we at btcRE will explore the next phase of our community impact, focused on affordable, accessible, and equitable housing," said Gorman, who founded btcRE more than a decade ago. He noted in his blog that he now has the time to focus on the company and its mission and goals.

Plans at btcRE involve redeveloping properties to make them more accessible to people with lower incomes, Gorman said, as well as addressing the costs of energy and transportation. "To me, money is for helping people, nothing more, nothing less," Gorman wrote.

Gorman previously served as chief executive of Coldwell Banker for three years. In his blog entry, Gorman said he was "blessed" to call Coldwell Banker home. He was a longtime veteran of Coldwell Banker's parent company, Anywhere, where he had worked since 2004.

Howe is described as an expert on MLS rules, policies and operations. He has worked at MetroList for more than three decades and is called by the company as a "key player" to its growth and expansion.
