Ryan Gorman takes the reins at Boston consultancy
Ryan Gorman will lead the Boston real estate consulting company he co-founded over a decade ago, after briefly serving as a Coldwell Banker senior advisor since leaving the CEO position in December.
Through his consultancy firm, btcRE — "be the change in real estate" — Gorman believes he can maximize his impact in the realm of housing affordability, according to a Feb. 2 blog post.
"In 2023, we at btcRE will explore the next phase of our community impact, focused on affordable, accessible, and equitable housing," said Gorman, who founded btcRE more than a decade ago. He noted in his blog that he now has the time to focus on the company and its mission and goals.
Plans at btcRE involve redeveloping properties to make them more accessible to people with lower incomes, Gorman said, as well as addressing the costs of energy and transportation. "To me, money is for helping people, nothing more, nothing less," Gorman wrote.
Gorman previously served as chief executive of Coldwell Banker for three years. In his blog entry, Gorman said he was "blessed" to call Coldwell Banker home. He was a longtime veteran of Coldwell Banker's parent company, Anywhere, where he had worked since 2004.
Ines Hegedus-Garcia leads MIAMI association
Ines Hegedus-Garcia is the new chair of the MIAMI Association of Realtors. As the leader of the MIAMI corporate board, she will focus on policies affecting the industry as well events and programs related to Miami real estate.
"I am honored and privileged to have been elected chairman of an innovative, forward-thinking and member-driven association," Hegedus-Garcia said. She is executive vice president at Avanti Way Realty, with more than a dozen offices in Florida.
She was formally named the new chair of the board during an inaugural celebration Feb. 3 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. She previously served as the 2019 MIAMI residential president.
Hegedus-Garcia, who is bilingual, holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Miami. She is a published author whose articles are read by thousands each month on Miamism.com, according to a press release.
MetroList president Dave Howe adds CEO to title
Dave Howe, the president of MetroList, has been named chief executive officer. He also will retain his position as president.
Howe replaces Rick Trevino as CEO. Trevino stepped down from his post for health reasons, according to the organization.
MetroList is northern California's largest MLS, serving 13 counties.
"The Board's selection of Dave reflects his ability to move the company forward in a new era of MLS data delivery, as well as his extensive industry knowledge," said Wayne Rose, who chairs the MetroList Board of Directors.
Howe is described as an expert on MLS rules, policies and operations. He has worked at MetroList for more than three decades and is called by the company as a "key player" to its growth and expansion.
He also is a member of NAR's MLS technology and emerging issues advisory board and its statewide MLS data share presidential advisory group.
