NextHome CEO James Dwiggins has emerged as a significant voice on the topics that are shaping the real estate industry: lawsuits, innovation, leadership. But Dwiggins doesn't just answer questions, he asks them of guests on Real Estate Insiders Unfiltered, his podcast with Keith Robinson, NextHome's chief strategic officer.

On this week's episode of Real Estate Insiders Unfiltered, real estate marketing guru Brian Boero of 1000WATT explains how NAR, brokers and agents should be telling their stories and connecting with buyers and sellers.

Watch now to learn more: Boero describes NAR's communication strategy as "responsive, defensive and self-justifying," and says that hasn't served them well.

"And so how do you break out of that pattern? You need to take some risks. And somebody needs to fall on their sword or break some things. I think that's the only way to break out of this, this spiral that the organization finds itself in."

Boero proposes a different approach: Be "confident, proactive and emotional in the right ways" — and let the members speak.

"I hope that something comes of this where NAR and everybody who's in this industry and who cares about it, looks at what we can do to create an industry that is smaller, smarter and worthy of the best of what we do."
