United Real Estate announced today that it is expanding into two new states with the addition of MORE Realty, the largest residential real estate brokerage in Oregon, according to United.

The news comes exactly one year after United announced it had increased its presence along the opposite coast with the affiliation of Premiere Plus Realty, a 1,500-agent brokerage in Florida.

Denise and Paul Knighton, MORE Realty.

Expanding into Nevada and New Mexico: MORE Realty's agents currently operate in Oregon, Washington and — in a first for United — Nevada and New Mexico. The Portland-based company was founded by Denise and Paul Knighton in 2015 and grew into a 900-agent brokerage in its first decade. MORE says United's resources will support continued growth as the brokerage aims to triple the number of clients it serves over the next few years.

Why the deal matters: MORE Realty intends to expand further in the West this year, presenting  additional growth opportunities for United. The affiliation also increases  United's national market share as it extends its reach across 34 states and continues to add agents. United reported an agent count increase of 13% in 2023, an uptick that CEO Dan Duffy said was "all organic" during an interview last year with Real Estate News. The brokerage's agent count currently exceeds 22,000.

In addition to the latest affiliation, United's growth has been bolstered  through recent mergers in Alabama, Louisiana and Texas.

What the leaders said: MORE Realty's "culture and appetite for excellence are perfectly aligned with our mission to improve the financial trajectory of our agents' and brokers' careers and lives," United Real Estate President Rick Haase said in the announcement.

"Our ability to deliver high-impact tools and services as well as our national network of brokerage operations experts will be rocket fuel for their growth," Haase said.

MORE Realty President and CEO Paul Knighton said United's purchasing power was "a major factor" in the brokerage's decision to affiliate. "With scalability now a reality, we benefit from an umbrella of tools, support, merger and acquisition assistance and technology. The ability to take on new opportunities is possible because there's a strong, enthusiastic partner supporting our growth," he added.

While MORE is moving under the United Real Estate umbrella, the brokerage will continue to be owned and led by the Knightons and will retain its existing branding and staff.
