Proptech leader Zane Burnett joins the brokerage as EVP of digital strategy, and Peter Ianos leads operations for core services, including mortgage and title.
Editor's note: As an industry with millions of agents and over 100,000 brokerage companies, new leaders rise to the top every day. Here we highlight executives and other notable leaders who've recently taken on, or stepped away from, roles that influence the residential real estate landscape.
The Agency has hired two experienced executives to take on key roles at the global luxury brokerage: Zane Burnett, executive vice president of digital strategy, and Peter Ianos, head of operations, core services.
Zane Burnett, The Agency's new EVP of digital strategy, was most recently VP of innovation and insight at Rechat, an AI-powered agent platform, where he played a role in driving the company's growth and industry recognition.
"Zane is a visionary leader whose expertise in technology and innovation will be instrumental as we expand our digital capabilities and deliver best-in-class solutions for our agents and clients worldwide," The Agency President Rainy Hake Austin said in the announcement.
In his new role, Burnett will oversee all aspects of The Agency's digital strategy, including enhancing the firm's digital presence, leading an in-house team of strategists, and leveraging AI, automation and emerging technologies, the company said.
During his career, Burnett has served in technology and marketing leadership positions at Willis Allen Real Estate, Alain Pinel Realtors and Fillmore Real Estate, in addition to consulting for LeadingRE and ActivePipe.
Peter Ianos is now head of operations for core services at The Agency, where he will lead the expansion of the brokerage's mortgage, escrow, title, insurance and relocation services and partnerships.
The brokerage has been actively growing its core services division, launching Aclara Lending and NY-based title company EastWest Abstract in 2024.
Ianos brings over 20 years of industry expertise, most recently serving as chief experience officer at Engel & Völkers Americas, where he led initiatives in recruiting, retention and brokerage services during his 12 years with the firm.
"As the industry evolves, ancillary services have become a key differentiator," Austin said of the strategic role Ianos will play at The Agency. "Peter's leadership will ensure we partner with the best in the business, delivering a seamless, full-service experience for agents and clients worldwide."
