Editor's note: From regional and statewide players to locals focused on a single market, multiple listings services and Realtor associations are the backbone of residential real estate. Here we highlight some of the latest news about the organizations that are shaping the future of the industry.

Two top Texas Realtor associations have approved plans to merge, agreeing on March 27 to engage in due diligence. The next step for MetroTex and Collin County Area Realtors (CCAR), if both boards choose to move forward after reviewing the details of the deal, will be to allow members to vote on the issue.

"This is not simply about combining two organizations, but about creating a unified voice for real estate professionals at a time when our industry demands it," MetroTex said in a statement posted on its website.

"This merger is about scale and strength," the statement continued. "A unified association will wield greater influence in advocacy, provide expanded professional development opportunities, and offer more robust resources to every member."

MetroTex has nearly 25,000 members and is the nation's fifth-largest local Realtor association, according to the T3 Sixty 2025 Real Estate Almanac. CCAR has more than 10,000 members and comes in at No. 28.

What's next? The statement promised an update for members in "no less than 30 days," as well as informational sessions, adding: "We appreciate your patience while we complete each step of the process with the care and attention it requires."

Florida Realtors' tech support service adds 6 more associations

Tech Helpline, which started as a service for Florida Realtors, is continuing its expansion, adding Connecticut Realtors, Pike's Peak and Fort Collins associations in Colorado, Anne Arundel County Association in Maryland, Westmoreland West Association in Pennsylvania and Shasta Association in California.

"These Realtor organizations recognize that technology is at the center of an agent's business today, and access to expert tech support has become one of the most valued benefits they can provide," Florida Realtors CEO Margy Grant said via press release.

The service is available by phone, email or mobile app.
