Corporate evolution
Founded by Glenn Stanford with the goal of being the first large-scale cloud-based brokerage, eXp went public in 2013 and entered an exclusive deal with Virbela, a cloud-based immersive workspace provider to create a virtual real estate platform. In 2018, eXp purchased Virbela and started trading on Nasdaq.
The company had a busy year in 2020, acquiring media company Success Enterprise and search technology company Showcase IDX, and launching eXp Commercial and eXp Global. By 2022, eXp had a presence in 24 countries.

Charitable efforts
In 2017, eXp established eXtend a Hand to provide assistance to eXp agents experiencing hardships from natural disasters, illness or other catastrophic events. The organization achieved 501(c)(3) status in 2021. In addition, eXp has partnered with the nonprofit New Story to help build homes in developing countries.
