Key points:

  • Aligned Showings was introduced to the members of Utah’s main MLS association on Jan. 30.
  • The product helps real estate professionals manage and schedule showings. Users can choose between Aligned Showings or Zillow’s ShowingTime on a listing-by-listing basis.
  • MLS Aligned, which is behind Aligned Showings, is "owned by MLSs and for MLSs."

UtahRealEstate.com has unveiled Aligned Showings, a new software product for managing and scheduling home showings, which could roll out to other MLSs later this year.

One of the largest MLSs in the country, UtahRealEstate.com serves nearly the entire state. The showings tool will be a free benefit for its approximately 20,000 MLS members.

Aligned Showings is the first software product from MLS Aligned, a company founded and owned by six major MLSs serving a membership of around 150,000 real estate professionals. Along with UtahRealEstate.com, the MLS Aligned owners are the Arizona Regional MLS, RMLS in Oregon and Southern Washington, MLSListings of Northern California, Metro MLS in Wisconsin and Beaches MLS in Florida.

Other members of MLS Aligned plan on offering the new showings product in the coming months, and licensing opportunities will be open to all MLSs across the country later this year, said Brad Bjelke, CEO of UtahRealEstate.com.

"Aligned Showings gives our members a tool that is easy to use, modern in design, and focused on the core aspects of showing properties. It allows for interactivity between the listing agent, showing agent, and the homeowner, and it simplifies the calendaring of appointments," Bjelke said. "With the software being owned by MLS Aligned, we know that all future changes and enhancements will be laser focused on the needs of our members and their clients."

UtahRealEstate.com members will have the option to opt-in to Aligned Showings or the current provider, ShowingTime from Zillow. Or they can choose not to use a showing service for a listing, Bjelke said.

"They can also change services during the lifecycle of the listing or turn off the service. It is truly a choice for our members," Bjelke said.

One of the big selling points of Aligned Showings, Bjelke said, is its modern user interface and ease of use, requiring little to no training.

Bjelke, who was the 2022 Shuttleworth MLS Executive of the Year, is one of the founders of MLS Aligned. UtalRealEstate.com also recently completed its migration to a fully cloud-based operation.
